Drawing and Painting the Figure with Damian Callan
Damian Callan leads a drawing and painting workshop. Working from the model, students will learn to develop their own ways of drawing and painting the figure and explore themes including portraiture, anatomy, composition, narrative and colour.
The course will guide you gently and patiently towards the amazing process of painting from the model. You will be led by an artist that is actively engaged with his practice. He has taught children and adults at Edinburgh College of Art, Leith School of Art and The National Galleries of Scotland.
Damian Callan has been a figurative artist and tutor for the last 16 years. He has won scholarships to Prague, Toulouse and Tuscany and was artist-in-residence at Liberton Hospital, Edinburgh.
