A completely free book festival, which has attracted big literary names to Dunbartonshire. Goes beyond standard author Q&As, with talks and discussions on a range of topics: 2012 is set to feature Sally Magnusson, Gerry Cambridge, Sheena McDonald, Alistair Urquhart and Christopher Brookmyre, among others. Tickets are available from all West Dunbartonshire libraries.

Often it can be a tricky task choosing which Book Festival on the calendar to attend, especially when there’s a diary clash. Whether by accident or design, it’s possible to pop into all three of the major literary extravaganzas over the coming month.
