Petrosphere

Petrosphere is part of an ongoing series of projects between five artists based in Glasgow, and five artists based in Athens. Understanding that these cities share strong similarities as catalysts for ideas and places to live and practise, Petrosphere becomes a platform to explore this through dialogue, contradiction and artistic play.

The new work developed for this group exhibition in a basement space of Glasgow’s Skypark features sculpture, drawing, photography, printmaking, performance and video. The exhibition has been curated in situ by the artists themselves. Science fiction / lament / design proposition / myth / colourfield: a logic emerges from the territories that each work presents.

The Petrophere artists are: Ruth Barker, Antonakis Christodoulou, Helen de Main, Vassilis H, Niall Macdonald, James McLardy, Margarita Myrogianni, Aliki Panagiotopoulou, Ciara Phillips and Kostas Sahpazis.
