In 1924, George Mallory and Sandy Irvine disappeared during a valiant bid to reach the summit of Everest. Writers and journalists Peter and Leni Gillman's biography of Mallort won the Boardman Tasker prize for mountain writing in 2000. In this talk they unveil some of Mallory's conflicting passions and the fatal choice he ultimately made.
