Peter and Leni Gillman present a talk on George Mallory and Sandy Irvine who disappeared on an ascent up Everest, examining Mallory's conflicting passions and the fatal choice he made.
In 1924, George Mallory and Sandy Irvine disappeared during a valiant bid to reach the summit of Everest. Writers and journalists Peter and Leni Gillman's biography of Mallort won the Boardman Tasker prize for mountain writing in 2000. In this talk they unveil some of Mallory's conflicting passions and the fatal choice he ultimately made.
