Pussy Whipped

Pussy Whipped's aims are to support female, queer and LGBT musicians. We will showcase amazing, energetic, kick-ass band nights where women and queers dominate the stage. We want to create an inspiring and energetic atmosphere which showcases punk, electro, indiepop and alternative bands/musicians whilst having a safe, non-judgemental community-based vibe. Put simply, we want to carry on the great DIY tradition of challenging the assumption that alternative music is a privilege reserved for one kind of straight man, and help this culture spread further in the wonderful city of Edinburgh!

It is our belief that openly queer artists and women are amongst the most talented, challenging and amazing musicians on the underground. It is also our belief that we are still sidelined on the music scene to a fairly hefty degree. We exist to fiercely challenge that – and we'll have a fab time doing it!
