Little Match Girl Passion
Hans Christian Andersen's story has inspired many retellings, notably Aki Kaurismaki's sardonic movie The Match Factory Girl. David Lang's moving The Little Match Girl Passion won a Pulitzer Prize and is performed here with a new Lang work and his 2008 score Pierced by Bang On A Can, the Smith Quartet, Theatre of Voices and soprano Else Torp.
