McEwen Where the Wild Thyme Blows Beethoven Piano Concerto No2 Sibelius Symphony No1
Neeme Järvi (CONDUCTOR) Christian Blackshaw (PIANO) Royal Scottish National Orchestra It’s always a special occasion when Conductor Laureate Neeme Järvi returns to the RSNO. This time, he’s bringing us a forgotten Scottish treasure written in France by the Borders-born Sir John Blackwood McEwen. You’ll wonder where this music has been all your life. And you’ll be blown away by the sheer elemental power of Sibelius’ tempestuous First Symphony. In between, expect poetry and finesse from pianist Christian Blackshaw in Beethoven’s youthful concerto.
