Scottish Chamber Orchestra: Beethoven Five
Robin Ticciati conducts a programme of personal favourites. Schumann's Overture from Faust represents the peak of its composer's achievement in dramatic music; HK Gruber's Nebelsteinmusik2 is a meditation on the darkness of 20th century German history, and Berlioz's 3Rêverie et Caprice2 for violin and orchestra warms us up for the big one: Beethoven's 3Symphony No 52, the most famous knock on the door in classical music. Alexander Janiczek is the violin soloist.
We don't have details of any future performances, if you know of some please let us know.
