Scottish Chamber Orchestra: Beethoven and Beamish
Beethoven's Symphony No 7 was instantly popular because of its ominous but ferociously catchy second movement, which to this day is trotted out by documentary producers who want to make you feel intimidated. Joseph Swensen has been studying the score intensely since his last explosive rendition of it with the SCO a few years ago: expect fresh insights. Also Dumbarton Oaks, Stravinsky's great homage to Bach; and the world premiere of Sally Beamish's Percussion Concerto, written for and starring Colin Currie.
We don't have details of any future performances, if you know of some please let us know.
