Scottish Chamber Orchestra: Langrée Conducts Beethoven
Gluck's Overture: Iphigénie en Aulide introduces some treats for Beethoven lovers. The Symphony No 4 is one of the major works of Beethoven's middle period but it's arguably overshadowed by the Mass in C, which after a disastrous premiere is now beginning to be regarded as one of the composer's neglected masterpieces. Louis Langrée conducts, with singers Elena Xanthoudakis, Jurgita Adamonyte, Andrew Staples, Alastair Miles and the SCO Chorus.
We don't have details of any future performances, if you know of some please let us know.
