RBS Talks - Vicky Featherstone

Cachín Cachán Cachunga!

The boys and girls from Cachín Cachán Cachunga! are back with another evening of what might be called alt.variety: dance, film, poetry and music with a queer and trans twist. This event celebrates LGBT History Month as well as the event's third birthday, and it's a suitably sparkling line-up with afro-cuban dance from Lily & Yamil, dieselpunk cabaret from Dr Carmilla and music from the Glasgow Glam Bangers representing just a fraction of the delights on offer. Part of LGBT History Month.

Cachín Cachán Cachunga!

Cachín Cachán Cachunga! has been tickling Edinburgh audiences between their legs and ears since February of 2009. The event that has been called 'Edinburgh's most consistently radical cabaret experience' returns on Sat 11 Feb – for LGBT History Month and our three year anniversary!

To celebrate, Cachín Cachán Cachunga! will feature sizzling Afro-Cuban dance from Lily & Yamil, velvety smooth vocals from singer-songwriter CN Lester, politicized smut from wordsmith Jacqueline Applebee, wicked dieselpunk cabaret from Dr Carmilla, incisive poetry and monologues from Nathan Gale and Robert Gale, and the wondrous angry glam racket that is Glasgow Glam Bangers.

You’ll also be treated to lounge music and disco from DJ Leggy Pee, plus a short film from Cachín co-founder Ania Urbanowska. Co-founders and curators, Zorras, will host the night with their unique brand of 'poetry-music-video-weirdness fusion. With megaphones.'
