Dumfries and Galloway Arts Festival

The founding aim of the Festival was to bring international performers of the highest quality to a region containing many scattered rural communities that would not otherwise have the opportunity to experience such talent. Since then, this region has produced some of its own talent of international standing.

The Festival offers a wide range of events: music - including classical, jazz and folk - dance, theatre, literary, children's events, plus visual arts and films. The growing number of children's events in recent years plus a revitalised literary programme added to our strong music, dance and theatre tradition has enhanced the programme on offer. Events take place in a range of venues throughout the region, from large to small, formal to informal, urban to rural.
