The Three Lochs Book and Arts Festival
Go west (to mainland Britain's most westerly peninsula, in fact) for this beautifully located fledgling festival of film, photography, art and literature. There's a busy programme for youngsters from toddlers right through to teens, and it's not all talks and readings either – in 2010 kids took part in a Revolting Recipes-themed cookery session.
