Grease

The Grease phenomenon began in 1970 with an idea by Jim Jacob and Warren Casey, which turned into a musical, followed by the famous film in 1978. The show is now showing at the Piccadilly Theatre in London's West End. The stage show returned to the West End after the 2007 ITV1 talent show, Grease Is The Word. The series resulted in the two winners Susan McFadden and Danny Bayne taking to the stage as the leads of the musical, Sandy and Danny. The new cast of the stage show replaces the two leads with 2009's Dancing On Ice winner Ray Quinn as Danny and Emma Stephens as Sandy. The popular story, set in the 1950s, follows the couple and their friends at Rydell High, as they fall in love via a string full of catchy hits. The songs featured in the film became well known through the film version in 1978, starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. The teenage love story features all the well known hits of the film, including Summer Lovin', You're The One That I Want and Grease Lightning. Directed by David Gilmore, with choreography by Arlene Phillips.
