The gallery was originally opened in 1904 and was dedicated to the works on G F Watts and became the only purpose-built art gallery to feature a single artist's collection. Following extensive refurbishment the gallery opened its doors in 2011 and showcases the collection once again as well as hosting a variety of workshops and activities throughout the year.
