Omid Djalili: Tour Of Duty

The British-Iranian stand-up presents his latest run of hilarity. As a stand-up comedian he made his debut at the 1995 Edinburgh Fringe Festival as a self-confessed Short, Fat Kebab Shop Owner's Son. His career progressed from there and he was given his own programme, The Omid Djalili Show on BBC 1 in 2007. When he's not on the road or filming his show, he is appearing in Hollywood films such as Gladiator, The Mummy, Mean Machine, Alien Autopsy, Spy Game, Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow, Grow Your Own, Notting Hill and Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End. He also gained acclaim in America as Nasim from the US sitcom Whoopi, starring alongside actress Whoopi Goldberg and his award-winning role opposite the late Heath Ledger in Casanova. His cheeky face can also be seen on those rather irritating television adverts for moneysupermarket.com; this bald comedian really does get around! His humour usually tests the boundaries of ethnic eccentricities, in ways in which only he and likes of Stephen K Amos are permitted without it being considered offensive.
