Nanci Griffith

The American singer-songwriter and guitarist takes to the stage for her UK tour beginning in Leamington Spa in January and culminating in February in Londonderry. The artist is predominantly a country and folk singer, releasing nineteen studio albums throughout her career since 1978. The singer will be promoting her 2009 release, The Loving Kind on her current tour. The album marks Griffith's first album of all-new material since 2005 and is one of her most politically outspoken pieces of work to date. The singer is a Grammy-Award winner, receiving her award for Best Contemporary Folk Album in 1994 for the release of Other Voices, Other Rooms. The album is a collection of covers, of music by Griffith's musical influences. As well as performing as a solo artist, Nanci Griffith is also part of the four-piece, The Blue Moon Orchestra. Throughout Griffith's career (which spans over two decades) she has recorded with various artists, including Willie Nelson, Don McLean and Delores Keane.
