Formed in 2006 the five-piece are fairly new on the dance music scene, but have already achieved two awards for the Best Electronic Artist category at the BT Digital Music Awards, first in 2007 and again in 2008. It was around this time that the release of their single That Boy That Girl achieved commercial success through a slot on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show. The band's name originated from an attack move in the Street Fighter video game and some of their songs have featured sample electronic sounds from Nintendo Game Boy video games, enhancing their electro style. Their music is known for tackling issues that effect their young demographic, such as debts and binge drinking. In the group's early beginnings with founder members and former Leeds University students James Smith and Daniel "Pilau" Rice the group formed their own Record Label, Surface Noise Records. It was through the record label that they first began recording their early singles.
