Gong

The progressive, psychedelic rock band formed by Australian Daevid Allen during the mid-1960s embarks on its first UK tour for nearly 10 years, appearing in cities including Bristol, Manchester, Edinburgh and at the HMV Forum in London's Kentish Town. Equally famous for the 'Radio Gnome Trilogy' albums of the 1970s - 'Flying Teapot', 'Angel's Egg' and 'You' - and recently released studio tome '2032', as well as for the various incarnations that were ultimately brought under the umbrella of the 'Gong Global Family', the tour should be well supported by both fans and space cadets alike. An added bonus is that famed guitarist and producer Steve Hillage, who has produced work alongside the likes of Dave Stewart and a young Sting in the past, produced works for the likes of Simple Minds and The Charlatans during the 1990s, and became the head 'Gong', replacing Allen, albeit briefly, in 1975, will be coming back into the Gong fold, marking a re-appearance after nearly 30 years. The happy, 'far-out' reunion jaunt of Gong and The Steve Hill age Band continues throughout November.
