Rich Hall

This tour sees Hall leave his hillbilly companion Otis at home, but you can still expect the usual grumpily disillusioned spontaneity, with politically-aware rants in that cantankerous gravelly voice. Rich's grouchy, dry comedy style has won critical acclaim. Since creating his redneck alter-ego Otis Lee Crenshaw in 1998, Hall has performed to sell-out audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe, throughout the UK and at comedy festivals worldwide. Award accolades include a Perrier Award, a Time Out Comedy Award and two Emmy Awards for The David Letterman Show. Hall has also become well known for his television and radio work, including regular appearances on, amongst others, Channel 4's Stand Up For The Week, the BBC's QI Have I Got News For You and Never Mind The Buzzcocks. Hall is also the star of critically acclaimed BBC 4 documentaries Rich Hall's The Dirty South and How The West Was Lost, plus Channel 4's topical late night show Stand Up For The Week. Other strings to his bow include writer for The David Letterman Show and as the inspiration behind Matt Groening's character Moe Szyslak from The Simpsons. Also an accomplished author, Hall has released three books, Magnificent Bastards, I Blame Society and Things Snowballs, all released by Abacus Books. He has also released two successful stand-up DVD's in 2001 and 2009 through Universal Pictures UK.
