Phil Cool

Phil Cool aka Phil Martin has come a long way since his humble beginnings as an audience warm up assistant for 1980s BBC comedy show Spitting Image. He went on to work on another BBC series Pebble Mill. This spawned a string of TV shows including Cool It, which won a Royal Television Society Award for Most Original Television Achievement. This was followed by Cool Head and Phil Cool for Central TV. His video releases have included Cool It, Cool It Too, Cool & Hot, Cool Head and Classic Cool. In 1992 Phil teamed up with fellow comedian and close friend Jasper Carrot and the pair went on tour topping 143 performances throughout the year. The pair later teamed up again in 2003. As well as being a successful comedian Cool has also released an album with Virgin Records, Not Just A Pretty Face and written an autobiography entitled Phil Cool Died Here (And Lived To Tell The Tale). In more recent years Cool has managed to find time for his original love of music and teamed up with singer-songwriter Ken Nichol to produce some songs. Phil hopes to find the time to do more singing and guitar playing but remains focused on his comedy career.
