Aardman Animations, in an exhibition sponsored by the Intellectual Property Office, offer a tour around Wallace and Gromit's home, 62 West Wallaby Street, to see their wacky inventions like the Tellyscope II, the Piella Propellor and the Blend-o-Matic. 'A Grand Weekend', the fun filled family event this Glasgow Fair Weekend runs from Saturday 17th until Monday 19th of July with loads of activities within the Centre itself and along the riverside. Your special 2-for-1 admission to the Science Mall can be claimed on the door and a number of the outside activities are free too.
Summer Nights - relax in the celestial treasure trove of the planetarium as you see the night sky filled with millions of stars and constellations.
Imagine That - live science show. Discover the inventions that have changed our world, plus indoor lightning, launching a rocket and invisibility!
Animation Station - become a writer, director and animator and make your own animated short film. You just might be the next Nick Park!
Wash & Yo Yo - can you help Gromit with his housework by inventing a window washing contraption!
Scrapheap Towers- Gromit is in trouble and you have to help him escape from prison and clear his name. Build the tallest tower you can to rescue him
Plus 'Cockroach Corner', 'Nina & The Neurons Trail' and science busking.
Shrek Forever After and Toy Story 3 - see your animated friends in the best way possible on a 82 by 62 ft screen in the world's most immersive 3D experience at Scotland's only IMAX theatre. IMAX films are a bargain £4.50 add-on with a valid Science Mall ticket!
Game On - test your flexibility, endurance, strength, balance and speed in some physical tasks- can you touch your toes? how many sit ups can you do?
Lab in a Lorry - Smash a wine glass with sound, generate power for a house and make digital camera- sounds like loads of fun!
Strathclyde Fire & Rescue - see them take to the water to do search and rescue demonstrations and their vintage fire engine.
BodyWorks - explore the interactive BodyWorks exhibits and see how high can you jump? how much water is in your body? and what will your lungs look like if you smoke?
Plus there will be birds of prey demonstrations, face painting, carnival rides, football workshops, boats in the moat and appearances from Oscar winning Wallace and Gromit! There’s fun for the whole family!
