Way to Blue: Songs of Nick Drake

Nick Drake is one of the most influential and universally praised artists of the 20th century, which could have something to do with the tantalisingly small volume of music created in his musical career, cut short as it was by his tragic death at the age of 26. Twenty-five years later, this concert, curated by his original producer Joe Boyd, celebrates his unique and profound output through reinterpretations of his songs by artists such as Green Gartside, Vashti Bunyan and Teddy Thompson.

Way To Blue - The Songs of Nick Drake

Undoubtedly one of the most influential English singer-songwriters of the last 50 years, Nick Drake’s fragile acoustic, autumnal music has touched the hearts
of millions of people.

This very special evening, curated and presented in person by his producer Joe Boyd, features original orchestrations arranged by Robert Kirby. Danny Thompson, the legendary bassist who played on many of Drake’s recordings, anchors the house band along with special guest artists including Vashti Bunyan, Green Gartside, Robyn Hitchcock, Teddy Thompson and KrystleWarren, who will celebrate the music through modern reinterpretations of his timeless songs.
