BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra: Russian Winter 4
Stravinsky's seminal work, the ballet 'The Rite of Spring', caused a riot at its 1913 premiere, and packs no less of a punch today. Here it is performed together with the rarely-heard original version of Rachmaninov's 'Piano Concerto No 4', with outstanding pianist Yevgeny Sudbin. A Pre-Concert Prelude takes place at 6.15pm, with a Post-Concert Coda after the performance.
