One of contemporary British music's leading ladies. Incorporating pop, jazz, folk, Burns and ballads.
Former vocalist with The Fairground Attraction and now a highly successful singer-songwriter in her own right, Eddi combines meltingly true vocals and towering romanticism with an astute and pragmatic outlook on life.
Peacetime, Eddi’s sixth solo album, was born out of the desire to pull all the disparate elements of her musical life together: the traditional musicians she’d met while doing an album of Burns’ songs, alongside her longstanding
collaborators John Douglas, Boo Hewerdine and Roy Dodds.
Expect a mix of new and old songs, like The Afton by Johnny Dillon from the band Heirloom, or Ye Banks and Braes O’ Bonnie Doon, or the heartbreakingly lovely Safe as Houses, written by Eddi and Boo after the London bombings.
