Comments & reviews for The Scottish Bead Fair

This fair takes place twice a year, the Spring show usually being about March.

An efficiently organised, friendly bead fair established in 2007. It's reputation is such that sellers come from the south coast of England to sell at this fair. I have overheard sellers saying that it is possibly even better than the Harrogate Fair.

Wear comfortable shoes, and take cash and cheque books as many of the smaller, specialised sellers cannot take plastic. The venue is large, light and airy. There is a cafe on site for when you need a break! Parking is relatively easy.

The supplies range from cheaper foreign imports to handmade lampwork glass beads, each one unique, and remember you are usually buying from the maker. Beads for sale usually include: Greek ceramic beads covered in 24K gold, fine silver and copper, glass beads from China, Tibetan "silver", Thai and Bali silver, gemstone, Murano, plastic, felt and paper beads.

I am an atendee at thes events, but in no way associated with the organisation, so my comments are objective and unbiased. The fairs are a highlight of my year :) I wouldn't miss them for toffee!

Without a car this is not an easy venue to get to, the march fair was very crowded and the catering facility could not cope with the volume of people. A sucessful show for seller I'm sure, but not a comfortable experiance for shoppers.
