Blonde Bombshells of 1943
Direct from a sell-out success in London and based on the award winning BBC TV film Last of the Blonde Bombshells starring Judi Dench, this laugh-out loud, sparkling musical comedy is truly unmissable. Filled with 1940s hits performed by an eight piece swing band, Blonde Bombshells guarantees to have you swinging in the aisles.
Bandleader Betty has a problem. Every time the Blonde Bombshells, play a GI camp, their members go AWOL! Now there’s an important BBC job in the offing and Betty needs to find new musicians – fast! Among those drafted in are naïve schoolgirl Liz, who plays a mean clarinet; Miranda, an upper-crust saxophonist; singing nun Lily, and Patrick a male drummer prepared to don a frock to avoid a drafting.
A warm, witty musical filled with classics by Fats Waller, the Andrews Sisters and Glenn Miller including T'ain't What You Do and Goodbyee. Not to be missed.
