I was very disappointed with the performance of Calamity Jane at the Kings this year. It was like something from an ameture dramatics society. And also staff at the theatre was something like a comedy act running up and down the aisle obviously looking for someone we think with a camera or something, but put everyone off the 'so called show.
First time I have EVER entered negative comments about a show at the Kings, usually always fantastic, especially the Pantomime each year, I have been going for about 20 years........... - 2. Beccy, Glasgow – 17 March 2008, 1:53pmReport

Janet Mackay, The Lyric Club ARE an amateur dramatics society. Perhaps you should have read the promotional material before you bought a ticket.
I saw this on the last night (Saturday), and no it was not as polished as a professional performance might have been, but it was FUN. Considering all of the cast have other jobs it was extremely well-rehearsed and though the acting was a little wooden at times the singing and dancing were spot-on. The funny bits were funny, the soppy bits were soppy and the audience seemed to be having a fabulous time. I thoroughly enjoyed it. NO complaints here. :)
