The highly regarded national company present an autumn bill with such diverse influences as Radiohead, film techniques and the 1930s. American choreographer Stephen Petronio's 'Ride the Beast' is set to Radiohead's music, Trisha Brown's 'For MG: The Movie' complements a soundscape by Alvin Curran and Ashley Page introduces an interpretation of popular songs from the 30s in 'Pennies from Heaven'.
Scottish Ballet
Autumn Season 2008
Enjoy a unique programme inspired by the music of Radiohead, film techniques and the sophisticated frivolity of the 1930s.
From ground-breaking American choreographer Stephen Petronio comes Ride the Beast – a celebration of raw energy and creativity set to music by Radiohead and featuring designs by uber-cool fashion designer Benjamin Cho.
From Petronio's guru, Trisha Brown, comes the hauntingly poetic For MG: The Movie set to a soundscape by maverick composer Alvin Curran.
Borrowing its title from Dennis Potter's acclaimed television drama Pennies From Heaven, Ashley Page premieres this new ballet – a playful interpretation of popular songs from the 1930s and with elegant designs by award-winning designer Antony McDonald (The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella).
