i am going to the launch of laura marneys new book " My best friend has issues" tomorrow 31.7.08. this i am looking forward to as i have read lauras other books and have thoroughly enjoyed reading them. i have also had the pleasure of meeting laura and what a wonderful person she is. she is an inspiration to anyone who likes to read and write. Frankly I think scottish literature would be a whole lot better off if it didn't focus on the kind of provincial, colloquial and mediocre rubbish that is perpetuated by the likes of Marney. I assumed that one stopped writing like a fourteen year girl old, at whatever age Marney is now- evidently not.
