Glasgow
Glasgow is Scotland's largest, busiest and fashion conscious city. People head to the 'Dear Green Place' for its mind-blowing array of shopping, its vast selection of live gigs and its enormous choice of museums and art galleries – from the traditional to the seriously cutting edge. While the West End of the city has a long-held reputation for being trendy, student-friendly, leafy and fun, Merchant City, to the east of the city centre, is increasingly establishing itself as the sophisticated home of designer shops, high-end bars and restaurants, and an arts festival that's growing every year. For generations, visitors have come to Glasgow to feast their eyes on its delightful Charles Rennie Mackintosh heritage, but the city's huge success in more contemporary art and design has demanded greater attention in recent years.
