Rihanna has a "good bull detector."

The 'Umbrella' singer is plagued by people trying to befriend her because she is famous, but finds it easy to distinguish between the fakes and her real friends.

She said: "I have a good bull detector so I'm very good at figuring out who is real and which people want to be my friend because of what I am versus who I am."

The 20-year-old singer said she copes with her hectic lifestyle by surrounding herself with her best friends.

She said: "I keep good people around me. My best friends are always there for me. They're honest and they keep me in check."

Rihanna also revealed she thinks women should not get too obsessed with finding love, and thinks it's more important to find happiness alone.

She added to Top of the Pops magazine: "You shouldn't depend on a guy to make your life better or good at all."
