Glasgow School of Art Postgrad Fashion Masters
Glasgow styles better
Eley Kishimoto, Julien Macdonald and Matthew Williamson all trained in textile design before they began putting together fashion collections. GSA’s postgraduate fashion Masters is one of the only textile-based fashion design courses in the country, and the collections on display at their annual catwalk show are always innovative and original. Young Scottish designer Chloe Highmore’s blocky toolshed prints (pictured) and delicate blouses made from dinosaur-patterned lace were the stand-out discovery of last year’s show - this year, the students have taken inspiration from Zimbawean street fashion and the humble Irn Bru bottlecap.
