Jay Haze aka Fuckpony is one of few producers providing something unique in the minimal scene besides Ricardo Villalobos. Love focuses on the sci-fi house sound ‘of the now’. The standouts on the double vinyl version (the CD version is completely different tracks) include ‘Ass to Mouth’, a solid piece of spooky beat box house, co-produced by Villalobos, and ‘Can’t Forget’ feat. D:exter, a sparse piece of minimal club music, with über dark catchy vocals.

This is edgy stuff, mixing Perlon-style minimalism with the vocal jack track sound of Derrick Carter. Is it grade A? No, but it’s a good example of what’s in right now, with a couple of killer cuts that outclass most opposition.
