Fife singer KT Tunstall is to play a T in the Park warm-up show at Dunfermline's new Alhambra Theatre. This will be only the venue's second show under its current incarnation.

The venue, one of Scotland's finest on its opening in 1922, before being used as a cinema and later a bingo hall, is currently undergoing renovation into a 1700 capacity music venue.

The instigator of these works is Paul Gudgin, Dunfermline resident and ex-director of the Edinburgh Fringe. Also supporting the project is Richard Jobson, film director and sometime singer with The Skids, who is also from the Fife town.

Tunstall plays the show as a warm-up for her appearance at the nearby T in the Park festival on 12 July. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Monday 28 April, priced £22.50 plus booking fee.
