Chris Waitt's A Complete History of My Sexual Failures, James Marsh's Man on Wire and Errol Morris' Standard Operating Procedure are among the 22 documentaries which will be presented at this year's Edinburgh International Film Festival.

Also among the 9 American documentaries the festival's director Hannah McGill has picked are Daniel O'Connor and Neil Ortenberg's Obscene, Ron Davis and Stewart Halpern's Pageant, Margaret Brown's The Order of Myths, and C Karim Chrobog's War Child.

The 19-strong Document section of the festival also includes broader international works like Werner Herzog's Encounters at the End of the World, Erik Nelson's Dreams with Sharp Teeth and Peter Geyer's Jesus Christ Savior.

All of the above, as well as three factual films presented as Gala events, will compete for the festival's best documentary prize.
