Richard and Judy to leave Channel 4 for UKTV

After announcing their departure from Channel 4 after seven years, it has been announced that daytime TV stars Richard and Judy are to sign with the UKTV network.

Available only through satellite and freeview, the UKTV channels include Dave and UKTV Gold. It hasn't been announced which one the husband-and-wife duo will broadcast their primetime, hour-long show on.

It is anticipated, however, that the change will lead to a loss of viewers from their current peak level of 2.9 million.

'(UKTV's proposal) will give us the flexibility in our personal lives we've been looking for,' said Richard Madeley. 'That the Richard and Judy Book Club will continue is the icing on the cake.'
