Cavelera Conspiracy

(Roadrunner)

VERY HEAVY METAL

Brazillian metallers Sepultura are pretty much untouchable in the world of thrash. Their Chaos AD and Roots are classics of the genre. However, frontman Max Cavalera split from the band in 1996, going on to form Soulfly, which caused a deep rift between him and the rest of the band including his brother and drummer Iggor. Now the Cavelera brothers are reunited on record for the first time in 12 years. Tracks like ‘Terrorize’, ‘Ultra-Violent’ and ‘Bloodbrawl’ throttle you with their sheer brutality, and none is more hostile than the hardcore slice of misanthropy ‘Nevertrust’. But this broiling intensity is tempered by a ferocious interpretation of traditional Brazilian rhythms, leading to some spectacularly intense grooves.
