Anthony Minghella dies

The English Patient director was 54

Film director Anthony Minghella has died at the age of 54.

He won an Oscar for directing The English Patient, and had just finished directing an episode of The No 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, which will be screened later this month.

The British director's other films include Truly, Madly, Deeply and The Talented Mr Ripley.
