INDIE
Doctors should really start thinking about prescribing The Superimposers for stress. This third effort from the much underrated act finds them reaching new levels of dreaminess with their whimsical take on indie pop, opening with the shimmering harmonies, string loops and wind section-tinged grooves of ‘Anymore’; a beautifully retro track which calls to mind The Beach Boys, Jimmy Webb and Super Furry Animals. Glockenspiels, acoustic guitars and harpsichords feature heavily throughout and while the instrumentation and production are incredibly warm and soothing, the West Country duo thankfully stop just short of becoming overly saccharine. Skilfully executed bliss.
