Katherine Heigl "slaps" herself to make sure she is enjoying life.

The '27 Dresses' actress, who married musician Josh Kelley last December, admits her innate pessimistic outlook often stops her from having fun.

Katherine said: "I have to constantly slap myself and tell myself not to be such a doomsayer and just enjoy things.

"For a long time I was afraid of being too happy because, without warning, your whole world can change. When I suddenly had all the things I had wanted for so long, it got worse because I thought, 'What is going to happen to make it not so wonderful any more?'"

Katherine has also revealed she knew Josh was her 'Mr. Right' the moment the pair met in 2005.

The 29-year-old star told Britain's Glamour magazine: "I knew he was 'The One' from the moment I met him. We clicked right away. He was everything I was looking for or needed or wanted in my life. We were together for a year-and-a-half, then got engaged.

"We never lived together before marriage. I felt it would be easier and more exciting to buy a new house and start afresh once we were man and wife."
