The Hold Steady

Craig Finn is very much like the Millennium Falcon: he might not look like much, but he’s got it where it counts. For The Hold Steady’s frontman, lyricist and live ringleader may look like he could repair your broken PC or survey your house for woodworm but he is actually an adept songsmith whose tunes veer between the heretical and poetical. Girls and Boys of America was one of the five truly great records of 2007 and this show is a wee break from recording its follow up to delight us with more tales of twisted romance, messy benders and crushing comedowns.
