You know that when a band are trying to create a ‘coherent mix of both digital and analogue without ever sounding disjointed’ that we may well all be in trouble. Whatever happened to writing a song from the heart rather than around the knobs? Not that there aren’t decent moments on this debut CD; it’s just that they more or less belong to Radiohead. While you can draw a line back from ‘Bypass Control’ to several tracks on OK Computer, ‘Victor’ is nothing more or less than ‘Morning Bell 2’. If this is the future, then we’re all doomed.
