The Hard Rain Picture Show
Environmental talk
Presentation and lecture by Mark Edwards, one of the most widely-published environmental photographers in the world. Neither a travelogue, nor another exercise in handwringing, The Hard Rain Picture Show takes audiences on a journey through rainforests, man-made deserts, inside shantytowns and peasant villages and into communities of indigenous people living in the most remote habitats on earth, and asks them to participate in the complex debate about how best to address the pressing problems – climate change, poverty, habitat loss, human rights – that threaten to engulf us.
Melting Pot, Edinburgh, Wed 6 Feb; Kelvingrove Art Gallery, Glasgow, Thu 7 Feb.
