Eight festival award nominations for T in the Park

T in the Park has been nominated in eight categories for the annual UK Festival Awards, including the gong for Best Major Festival.

More than 80,000 fans travelled to Perthshire to take in this year’s Balado event, at which the likes of The Killers, Kasabian, Snow Patrol and Scissor Sisters were performing.

The festival has made the shortlist for a record number of awards, including the prize for most environmentally friendly festival and boasting the best line-up.

Geoff Ellis of promoter DF Concerts said: ‘We strive to keep the festival fresh and maintain the high standards that T in the Park is famed for and are extremely proud of this year’s new additions which included the Healthy T area as well as our cup recycling initiative.

‘T in the Park also celebrated its second year as the UK’s largest carbon neutral festival.’

The winning festivals are chosen by the public and will be announced on 6 November.
