Queen 2: This time it’s most axiomatic and divinedly inspired

Screenwriter Peter Morgan is apparently beavering away on a follow up to The Queen – but it’s not really focusing on her majesty this time.

Rather we are to be treated to Michael Sheen’s third turn as Tony Blair as we follow his dealings with Bill Clinton and George W Bush.

The accuracy of the impression was slightly frightening in the first of the nominal trilogy, the Deal, whereas in the Queen it became increasingly disturbing.

It may only be me, but when Sheen plays Blair he makes me think of what it might be like to come home and find Pop from the Rice Krispies box ensconced in your drawing room and getting up to something he really shouldn’t.
