MTV nominations put JT in the frame
The nominations for the MTV Europe Music Awards have been announced, putting Justin Timberlake in pole position for another clutch of gongs.
The US singer won best male and best pop act at last year’s ceremony, also dominating the MTV Video Music Awards in Las Vegas earlier this month with a total of four awards.
Following JT’s lead are Beyonce, Amy Winehouse, Nelly Furtado, Rihanna, Avril Lavigne, My Chemical Romance, Linkin Park and Fall Out Boy, all with three nominations each.
The Munich ceremony will be hosted by rapper Snoop Dogg and is expected to include performances by the Foo Fighters and My Chemical Romance.
A new category has been introduced for this year’s awards, which will pit 19 European countries against one another to find the continent’s ultimate breakthrough act.
The awards will be held in the city’s OlympiaHalle on November 1.
