A signed Broons annual is expected to fetch thousands of pounds when it goes under the hammer in St Andrews.
The rare book from 1959 was given as a birthday present by Dudley D. Watkins, with a personal message in the front sleeve.
Auctioneer Sandra Urie claims collectors from across the country will be attending, with a four-figure sum on the cards.
“I understand that the book was purchased some years ago at a car boot sale,” she said.
“It was part of a job lot which was bought for 5p.”
The item also includes an original drawing of comic strip favourite Oor Wullie.
