Alan Halsall and his actress wife Lucy-Jo Hudson are expecting their first child, the 'Coronation Street' star has announced on Twitter.

The 'Coronation Street' actor - who portrays Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap - took to his Twitter account to reveal his actress wife is pregnant, and the couple are "over the moon" about the news.
He tweeted: "My wife @LucyJo_Hudson & I are very excited to announce that we are expecting our 1st child. Xx We are both over the moon! Xxx (sic)"
Lucy-Jo - who met Alan when she starred on 'Coronation Street' as Katy Harris from 2002 to 2005 - thanked fans for their kind messages and revealed she "can't wait" to become a mother for the first time.
She wrote on Twitter: "Awww you guys are so lovely! Like I'm not emotional enough, haha thankyou for your beautiful messages! @alanhalsall and I are so excited x
"I can't wait to be mummy xxx (sic)"
The 29-year-old beauty's former 'Wild at Heart' co-star Amanda Holden took to the social networking site to congratulate the couple - who have been together for eight years - on their good news.
She wrote: "@LucyJo_Hudson @alanhalsall so happy you can finally share your news!!!!!! You know we love you both and can't wait to meet that bundle x (sic)"
Alan's co-star Brooke Vincent - who plays Sophie Webster on 'Coronation Street' - also congratulated the pair.
She tweeted: "Massive congratulations to @alanhalsall & @LucyJo_Hudson & Rudy xx (sic)"
The announcement completes a great couple of weeks for Alan, who picked up the Serial Drama Performance prize at the National Television Awards last month.
However, his alter-ego Tyrone has not been having such a good time of it lately after he was arrested for kidnapping his and his evil ex-fiancee Kirsty Soames' (Natalie Gumede) baby Ruby.
