Naming albums is tricky business – you’re going to have to live with it for eternity, so when TAMGC (as they shall be know here for space reasons) named their album Fighting and Onions you just kind of knew they were a bit special. With a sound that is as much Beefheart and Tom Waits as it is Son House and Howlin’ Wolf, the Calgary foursome make a noise that will snare rock kids, folkies and hardcore country fans alike, such is their incendiary live habits.
Brookfield Village Hall, Fri 21 Sep; The Tall Ship, Glasgow, Sun 23 Sep.
